How we live and what happens to us in life depends on how we see life. Most of us like to plan for good times and good things. We need to be ready, just like we need to get summer bodies in the winter. We also need to be able to plan for the bad times.
We often think that life will go smoothly and don’t think about dealing with hard times or anything terrible tomorrow. We hope that tomorrow will be better. Every year we feel it will be better (when summer or sunshine comes). We have a forward-looking approach that makes us optimistic but sometimes makes us serial planners and eternal optimists without getting the body or the results
This makes us think of the past as something “bad” where we did not do our best. We believe history was “bad” and the future will improve. We tend to forget that the present is more important than the past and the future. The past is gone, and the lot hasn’t happened yet. We live life in the ever-present.When we hear about mindfulness (paying attention to the here and now), we go to the “East” to learn about it or spend money on seminars and workshops. We forget that people have been practicing mindfulness worldwide for thousands of years, even if it was not called mindfulness.
There is a saying that staying in the present is boring and makes us not dream. But focusing on the present doesn’t mean ignoring the past or holding back the future; it means living within your circle of control. This means understanding that you cannot control what happens to you but can control how you respond. A healthy, fit, or attractive body is an excellent example of what to learn about life. There’s a saying that “summer bodies are built in winter.” If I work hard at the gym this winter, I’ll be ready to hit the beach by spring. I’ll have a body that’s “hot,” “fit,” or “healthy.” Even if you go to the gym and eat well for 2 to 3 months, you might not even get a spring body, let alone a summer body.
Most of us make plans for our summer bodies, but instead of making plans for your body, find out what it means to be “sexy,” what it looks like, and why you want it. We must examine who, how, and why we want an attractive summer body. We also need to reflect on how we see our current bodies.
Most of us put pressure on ourselves once we say we want a summer body in three months. This is often linked to feeling like we’re not good enough, even if we achieve our goals. We may be trying to please others or get compliments, which makes us feel like we’re not good enough. We need to answer what makes an attractive body and a body. Since we do not accept a summer body, a body that lets you walk down the street with your head held high is hot.
Since we do not have answers, we often think about what “experts” tell us to do. People do better when they see a “psychologist.” Dietitians give a diet plan that can’t go wrong. The personal trainer keeps track, gets results, and pushes you to work harder. We do well when someone is watching over our shoulders, keeping us on track, and making things happen. But we don’t always have the self-discipline to put what we learn into practice. The real issue is that some people who call themselves “professionals” use us to make money. Some professionals have the same problems we do, which may be why they chose to work in those professions in the first place. Some professionals care more about how much money they can make than how well their clients do.
The same is true of close friends. How you get in shape for summer can show your friends and family what not to do or what didn’t work. If you have even a little success, they will feel like their friendships and families are at risk. Therefore, they might try to turn other people against you. Some people will try to stop you, say bad things about your success, or “sabotage” you.At church, the pastor will pray for you to achieve your goals, and they will make money off you. A spiritual healer, seer, or spiritual leader can help you get in shape by connecting you to the cosmos, spirits, or ancestors. At the same time, pastors and spiritual leaders also need extra “diets” or lifestyle programs to reach their goals while they improve their lives.
Some pastors and spiritual leaders have the same problem with their summer bodies, but you hire them to help you reach your goal. We should look for ways to help those who support us. We must treat them as people with problems and issues just like us so we can lend a hand to them as they help us. The golden nugget is this: if we have a plan, we should follow through on it. We cannot set goals for the future, such as having a summer body in the winter. We need summer bodies to be a year-round goal and work on them all through the summer. In addition, we need to live in our summer bodies every day and not on a specific day or plan.
